MOCK CRICKET AUCTION LEAGUE
The Mock Cricket Auction League is the brainchild of our founder Vaibhav Vivek Bhasin. This started as a way of staying entertained and engaged during the Covid-19 enforced lockdown during April and May. As of today, MCAL ( Mock Cricket Auction League) has had 4 editions over the months of April and May.
The concept follows the popular Indian Premier League Auction with a few tweaks . The basic rules include :
-
8 teams competing in an auction with a virtual budget of Rs. 4,500 each.
-
220 players ( 100 Indians & 120 foreigners ) divided into 5 grades of base price 100, 50, 30, 20 and 10.
-
Each team to have a balanced squad of 16 to 20 players containing minimum of 8 to 11 foreign players & 7 to 10 Indian players.
-
Playing 11 to consist of 6 Foreigners and 5 Indian players.
-
Winner decided by a panel of 5 independent judges who will rate each team out of 200 marks ( 100 for squad and 100 for playing 11)
-
Auction held over two days ( 6 hours in total ) over Video Conference apps like Zoom or Google Meet.
